Mumbai based Haridas Vhatkar is one of the most respected tabla makers in India. His drums are played by Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pandit Anindo Chatterjee and many great tabla players. He is known for using only the best materials, and for careful worksmanship that results in impeccably tuned heads (pudi). This tabla has stable tuning and sounds good even at higher pitches. This tabla is a concert sounding drum with great sustain and tone. Since the drum is a Bombay style tabla, the head is thicker and the drum is more durable. These #2 tablas are made of high quality seasoned wood. The tone and sustain is great on this drum and it is a pleasure to play.  

Depending on the size of the shell, the head will be best tuned at anywhere from low G to high E.  Please inquire for current availability.
