Description

A tabla hook is a tool used for tensioning the straps on both tablas and bayas during reheading or pulling of the drum. It allows for more efficient balancing of the straps while helping to avoid both bloodied fingers and bad backs. Highly recommended!

    I’ve been playing and caring for tablā for over 25 years. The tablā hook is such an awesome tool. A must for re-tensioning a head evenly whilst not stripping your finger raw on the camel hide strapping. The grip is broad and long. Ideal to manipulate the straps to collect up all the slack and gather to the end to feed out. I thoroughly recommend this to all users.

    This handy tool saved my fingers and allowed me to apply proper tension on the head. Replacing a tabla head is difficult enough, so using the proper tools really goes a long way.
