Thavil

This is a popular double headed drum from South India. It is used in classical Carnatic music as well as temple and folk music. It often accompanies the Nagswaram.

Made of heavy jackwood, the left hand side is played with a stick and the right hand side is played with the hand and fingers. Sticks, thumb caps and a bag are included.
