Tabla Sets
A tabla set is two drums played as one instrument. The tabla is the treble drum, tuned to the tonic Sa and played with the dominant hand; the baya is the bass drum, its pitch bent with the heel of the other hand.
We carry sets from Haridas Vhatkar, Somnath Kakade, Shyamal Das and our own Bombay line, covering everything from a first set to a professional pair. Every set comes with rings, covers, a tuning hammer and a soft carrying case, and you can buy the drums individually if you prefer.

Please be aware that when tabla are shipped they often will go out of the pitch you requested. Such factors as temperature, humidity and handling impact the tabla's tuning. If you specified a particular pitch and you received the drum out of tune, it should be a simple matter for you to to tune it. If you are unfamiliar with the tuning process feel free to call or email us for assistance.
