Scale Change Harmoniums
A scale change harmonium shifts the whole keyboard left or right, transposing the instrument so you can keep playing in one fingering when the tonic moves. Most shift between seven and thirteen half steps.
These are larger and heavier than our other harmoniums, folding or not, and most are built in Kolkata — we carry Paul & Co. and Manoj Kumar Sardar. The keyboard action suits the fast runs that go with classical vocal and ghazal accompaniment. All are tuned and prepped before sale.
