Tabla and the wider family of Indian drums. Tabla sets and single drums from Haridas Vhatkar, Somnath Kakade, Mukta Das and Shyamal Das alongside our own Bombay and student models; pakhawaj, dholak, dholki, mridangam, ghatam, thavil and dhol for folk and Carnatic playing; and cajons, darbukas, djembes and handpans.
Every set is tuned and checked before it leaves Berkeley. Tabla move with temperature and humidity in transit, so a drum can arrive a little off the pitch you asked for — the tuning videos below walk through bringing it back.
