The surbahar, sometimes referred to as a “bass sitar”, is the larger sibling of the sitar. It is usually tuned 2-3 pitches below the sitar and is known for its resonance, long slides and great sustain.

Each surbahar we sell is thoroughly inspected and setup. In addition to tuning the surbahar, it will be restrung, the frets polished and adjusted, pegs fine fit and chalked. These extra steps assure you will get the best surbahar for the price.
