Made in Kolkata, we feel this shruti box (surpeti) is the equal in tone and sustain to any in the market. It is the same size as other medium size shruti boxes. The sound quality is very good and our shruti boxes are widely used in Yoga studios, sound healing and sound therapy. This shruti box is completely made with teak wood.
It has 13 chromatic reeds going from C to an octave above, so you can get choose any note as a tonic and get its fourth or fifth. This surpeti comes with a padded carrying case.
The wood grain may vary from instrument to instrument.

This is my first shruti box, and I love it. It has a great sound and is easy to play. I've already incorporated into sound meditation sessions that I facilitate. And the staff were very friendly and helpful in answering my questions to ensure that I made the right purchase.
