Sanjay Rikhi Ram Sitar Studio
Product Description
Made by Sanjay Sharma, grandson of Rikhi Ram, this is the style of sitar that Pandit Ravi Shankar played in concert in his last years. This is a scaled down instrument. The length is 42 inches and the face measures 12 inches at its widest. The body is carved out of a single piece of wood (no tumba or gourd) and is 3 1/3 inches deep. It has ebony bridges. This instrument plays really well, and is, of course, extremely portable. It comes with a fiberglass case.
As a handmade instrument this sitar is a work of art. The workmanship is like a Martin Guitar and the sound is like Raviji's sitar.
This price includes a $25 packing fee. You are insured if the instrument arrives damaged. We have packed and shipped sitars for over 20 years. We pack the sitar very well.
