This unique sitar combines the features of the Karaj Pancham and Gandhar Pancham styles. Like the Ravi Shankar (Karaj Pancham) style sitars it has 4 main playing strings, including low Pa and low Sa. It has a  Hiren Roy style bridge extension on these bass strings to  help with intonation. Like the Vilayat Khan (Gandhar Pancham) style sitars is has no upper tumba and 4 chikari strings. Thus it has 8 main strings as opposed to the usual 7.

At 50 inches long, this sitar a little bigger than average. It decorated in the austere style common to Gandhar Pancham sitars and has swirl pegs. It has 12 sympathetic pegs.
