A Shruti Box or Surpeti plays a fixed drone of one note or several notes. It is a reed instument like a harmonium. This instrument from Manoj Kumar Sardar has a very rich tone and incredible sustain. It measures 16 by 12 by 2 3/4 inches folded up. It has 13 half steps starting at C and going to C an octave up. Different voicings are suitable for male and female voices.
